Paris Saint-Germain were crowned Champions League champions for the second consecutive season, after beating Arsenal on penalties 4-3. The final ended in a 1-1 draw in original and extra time at the Puskás Arena in Budapest.

Paris Saint-Germain achieved a new historic achievement by being crowned Champions League champion for the second time in its history, and the second in a row, after beating Arsenal in an exciting final that ended in penalties. On Saturday, the Puskás Arena in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, witnessed a strong confrontation between the two teams that ended in a 1-1 draw in the original time. German Kai Hauffertz opened the scoring for Arsenal early in the minute sixth, to put the gunner in front. The Parisian club did not give in to this delay, and was able to equalize in the 65th minute by Frenchman Osman Dembele from a penalty kick, to rebalance the game and ignite the excitement in the last minutes. The referee resorted to the extra time of thirty minutes divided into two equal halves, but both teams failed to resolve the match, which necessitated resorting to penalty kicks in which the chances smiled at Paris-Saint Germain. With this award, Paris Saint-Germain retains the continental championship title for the second time in a row, after winning it for the first time last season at the expense of Inter Milan, confirming its dominance in European football in recent years.
