Hezbollah carries out successive attacks on Israeli military positions

Hezbollah carried out a series of military operations targeting three barracks and a military position in northern Israel with drones, in response to what it described as Israel's violation of the ceasefire. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that his country is at war with the party and will intensify its operations against it.

Hezbollah revealed that it had carried out several simultaneous military operations targeting sensitive Israeli positions in the northern border area. In successive statements, it claimed responsibility for four drone attacks on the Shomera barracks, in addition to targeting two barracks in two northern towns and a military position in Misgav in general. Hezbollah justified these operations as a direct response to what it considered an Israeli violation of the ceasefire agreement, especially after Israel announced Intent to intensify its strikes in Lebanese territory. All the attacks were carried out during a similar period of time in the afternoon hours. For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that his country is engaged in an actual war with Hezbollah, stressing the government's determination to escalate military operations against the party. Netanyahu claimed that the Israeli military managed to eliminate more than 600 Hezbollah fighters in the past weeks. Israeli media reports revealed that Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz approved the expansion of military operations in Lebanon, while other sources reported that the security services presented the political leadership with multiple plans that include targeting the capital Beirut, without obtaining final approval yet. In the same context, a senior US official pointed out that the administration of President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of supporting the Israeli escalation against Hezbollah, accusing the party of ignoring repeated demands to stop More than 1,000 drones and 700 missiles have been fired since April 17. The US official considered that Hezbollah bears full responsibility for the current escalation, accusing it of violating the ceasefire agreement concluded on March 2 and working to obstruct the ongoing negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, which prevents Lebanon from moving towards peace and reconstruction.
