Pakistan's army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is leading a crucial mediation effort in Tehran to reach an understanding between Washington and Tehran that will end the current crisis. This initiative is part of regional and international efforts to forge a comprehensive agreement that addresses Iran's nuclear program and the future of enrichment policies.

The Iranian capital, Tehran, is witnessing intense diplomatic efforts with the arrival of the Pakistani army commander, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in a sensitive mediation mission aimed at reaching an understanding between the United States and Iran. This visit comes as part of continuous efforts to end the current crisis and open new horizons for negotiations on the Iranian nuclear file, according to the US website Axios. A Pakistani security source revealed that Field Marshal Munir plays a pivotal role in the efforts of Mediation between the two parties since the beginning of the current crisis, noting that this visit, which comes after low-level preliminary talks, may represent the “last chance” to reach a comprehensive political settlement. International mediators are currently preparing a “letter of intent” that includes mechanisms for a cessation of hostilities, as well as launching intensive 30-day talks to discuss a more comprehensive agreement that addresses outstanding issues related to the nuclear program Iran and future enrichment policies. Several Arab and regional countries are participating in these diplomatic efforts, as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey contribute to mediation efforts, while ambiguity clouds Tehran's final position on signing the potential agreement, especially since some Iranian circles believe that the current balance of power is in their favor. For his part, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio pointed to "limited progress" in the ongoing talks. He stressed that Washington's strategic goal is to ensure that Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons under any circumstances. Rubio explained that any future agreement must include radical treatment of Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium and the regulation of future enrichment activities. He also stressed the US administration's categorical rejection of any Iranian attempts to impose "transit fees" in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, especially after the renewal of Iranian hints about this DIRECTION
