An Iranian military source denied his country's involvement in the attack on the UAE's Barakah nuclear plant, accusing Israel of carrying it out to drag the UAE into a regional conflict. The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that investigations proved the arrival of drones from Iraqi territory.
The Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region of the United Arab Emirates witnessed a drone attack on May 17, targeting the offshore facilities of the strategic plant. UAE air defense systems succeeded in intercepting three drones that entered the skies from the western border, two of which were completely destroyed, while the third was able to hit a generator located outside the internal security range of the nuclear plant. A remarkable diplomatic development, the Iranian Tasnim news agency quoted an informed military source directly accusing Israel of carrying out this attack, pointing out that the goal is to push the UAE to adopt more hostile positions against Tehran in the framework of the Iranian-American conflict. The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed in an official statement that preliminary investigations proved the arrival of the three drones from Iraqi territory, pointing to the success of its defense system in Dealing with six hostile drones in the last 48 hours. The UAE authorities stressed that the state reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and national security in accordance with international laws and charters, stressing the full military readiness to face any future threats.
