Lebanese security sources announced that Israeli aircraft carried out airstrikes on several Lebanese areas on Monday, coinciding with the entry into force of the 45-day extension of the ceasefire at midnight. The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that the number of casualties has risen to 3,020 since the beginning of the war.
Lebanese security sources and the National Media Agency confirmed that Israeli forces carried out airstrikes targeting various areas in Lebanese territory, at a time when the extension of the ceasefire entered into force. A Lebanese official explained that the new extension of the ceasefire, which extends for an additional 45 days, came into effect at midnight, following the third round of direct talks hosted by the United States of America between Lebanese and Israeli delegations on Friday. These US mediation efforts come within the framework of broader diplomatic efforts aimed at containing the ongoing escalation in the Middle East region and finding peaceful solutions to existing conflicts. In the same context, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health revealed that the death toll has risen to 3,020 since the outbreak of military operations on March 2, noting that this number includes 619 women. children and health workers, reflecting the tragic nature of the ongoing conflict.
