A senior Hamas official confirmed the death of military commander Izz al-Din al-Haddad, while mosques in the northern Gaza Strip announced his martyrdom. This followed an Israeli announcement that it was targeted in a complex air operation in Gaza City.

On Saturday, Hamas confirmed the killing of one of its most prominent military leaders, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, following an Israeli assassination targeting him in the Gaza Strip. Reuters quoted a senior official in the movement as confirming the news of the death of Al-Haddad, who is considered one of the prominent leaders in the movement's military wing.
